Welcome to the Hildersham Village Website
Welcome to the Hildersham website, Hildersham is a small vibrant village, which has always been centred around the 12th century church, which features one of the best Victorian Clayton and Bell Stained Glass and Painted Chancels in the Country.
Hildersham is situated eight miles south-east of Cambridge in South Cambridgeshire, just off the A1307, the main road to Haverhill. It is close to the villages of Linton, Abington and Balsham. The river Granta flows through the village on its way to Cambridge. With a population of approximately 200 people, Hildersham is a very active close-knit community centred on the 12th century church and village hall. It is famous for its breathtaking display of daffodils in the spring. It's beautiful meadows and river and it's very community spirited parishioners. Hildersham is almost unique in having 3 SSSIs (Sites of Special Scientific Interest) at Hildersham Wood on the Cambridgeshire/Essex county boundary, Aldercarr a wet spring fed woodland area in the centre of the village and Furze Hills, an esker ridge near the Roman road and one of the other village boundaries.
